WELCOME TO DIVEL CONNEXION
Divel ConneXion Inc., is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering Haitian women newcomers and other women newcomers by providing mentorship, support, and community connections.
Through our programs, we create a nurturing space where women can gain confidence, access valuable resources, and build meaningful relationships. We are committed to equipping them with the tools and guidance needed to overcome challenges, achieve their goals, and shape their ideal futures.
HISTORY OF DIVEL:
DIVEL has been around for over ten years, founded by Dina (DI), Vanessa (V), and Estelle (EL). The name « DIVEL » was intentionally created to represent a group—a space for connection, culture, and community. Initially, DIVEL was established to celebrate and showcase the beauty of Haitian culture through dance, music, and song performances.
Over time, our friendship naturally evolved into DIVEL, a space for sisterhood where we shared our experiences and journeys as young immigrant women navigating life in Canada.
As we moved through different life stages, DIVEL remained a place for personal growth, mutual support, and empowerment. It became a trusted space where we could learn from one another, share challenges, and celebrate achievements together.
Recognizing the lack of mentorship in her own journey, Estelle was inspired to create a non-profit organization dedicated to mentorship for women newcomers. In collaboration with the co-founders, in June 2023, they launched Divel ConneXion, where they turned the vision into reality, ensuring that other women would have access to the guidance, community, and encouragement that we ourselves often needed.
Through Divel ConneXion, we aim to extend the same support that DIVEL has given us, helping other women navigate their own journeys with confidence and a strong sense of belonging as they build their lives in Canada.
